HealthSouth Receives Parkinson's Proficiency
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Western Massachusetts, Ludlow MA recently received the Parkinson Foundation of The Heartland's Certificate for Parkinson Proficient Accreditation. This certification involved completion of education modules with learning objectives and Professional Tests.
Parkinson's disease is a progressive, degenerative neurological disorder that currently afflicts about 1.5 million Americans. The goal of the Parkinson's Foundation of the Heartland is to train care providers to give optimal Parkinson care and chronic disease management.
As Parkinson's disease incidence grows with population aging, so will the need for quality rehabilitative care. HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Western Massachusetts's goal is to meet this need through patient education, exercise programs, medication regimens and patient support.
