Join Us As We Celebrate National Rehabilitation Week
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Western Massachusetts will join HealthSouth hospitals across the nation on Sept. 20-26, 2009, in celebration of National Rehabilitation Week.
HealthSouth Rehab Hospital of Western MA is joining rehabilitation providers across the nation Sept. 19-25, 2010, in celebration of National Rehabilitation Week.
The week will be highlighted by various events and activities. Community members are invited to visit for Our Annual Patient Reunion on Weds, September 22nd from 11:30-1pm in the Cafeteria. HealthSouth will also be hosting a staff/patient picnic and concert in Library Park with live Entertainment and Inspiration by A-Ray-of-Elvis: Elivis Impersonator: Ray Guillmette Jr on Friday, September 24th at noon. Additional events include A patient trip to the Big E is West Springfield as well as a day of “Wii-hab” with group sessions in the therapeutic gym area on Tuesday, September 21st (using Wii games to improve motor skills).
National Rehabilitation Week was established in 1976 to create awareness of people with disabilities and promote the benefits of rehabilitation. In 1990, a presidential proclamation designated the third week of September as National Rehabilitation Week, which has grown to include more than 7,000 organizations.
